KUBS EMBA Rises to 24th in FT Executive MBA Rankings
Korea University ranks 24th worldwide with its independent program "Executive MBA"…No. 1 in Korea for the 6th consecutive year
Higher ranking than △Columbia University (28th place), △New York University (38th place), △Rice University (43rd place), △Cornell University (50th place)

The British newspaper, Financial Times (FT), has released the “2016 Top 100 Executive MBA (EMBA) Rankings” on October 17 (Mon). According to the “2016 Top 100 EMBA Rankings,” released by FT, Korea University Business School’s EMBA moved up three places to No. 24 this year, only with its single-school program. Northwestern University: Kellogg tied for 24th place with Korea University.

The program ranked higher than globally-renowned business schools such as △Columbia Business School (28th place), △New York University (38th place) △Rice University: Jones (43rd place), and △Cornell University: Johnson (50th place). This year’s first place went to Kellogg-HKUST EMBA, a joint program, followed by △Tsinghua-Insead EMBA and △Trium Global EMBA, taking second and third place, respectively. Korea University is the only university in Korea to be named in the ranking.

The EMBA’s high achievement in the FT ranking is significant, as it is an independently organized program by Korea University. Among the EMBA programs that were listed in the top 100, 24 were programs from universities in Asia, but only nine universities, including Korea University, Nanyang University (18th place), National University of Singapore (17th place), ran single-school programs. The remaining universities in Asia offered joint programs with American, British, and French universities.

KU’s EMBA stood at 26th place in the “3-Year Average Ranking” (the average raking from 2014 to 2016, in which, KU ranked 28th, 27th and 24th place) which gives a more accurate assessment of the program from a longer-term perspective. KU stands shoulder to shoulder in the 3-Year Average Ranking with the likes of △University of Cambridge: Judge EMBA (25th place), △Kellogg-Schulich EMBA (26th place), and △Columbia Business School (27th place).
