‘New Business Building’ expected to be completed by December, 2011

With the goal of becoming one of the world’s top 50 business school by 2015, KUBS will build the ‘New Business Building’—the world’s greatest educational facility.
At the ‘KUBS Global 50 Launching Ceremony’ held in January of 2008, KUBS announced its vision and development plans. The business school announced that it would strengthen its core capabilities which include faculty, facilities, students, and programs to become Korea’s flagship business school and join the world’s top 50 business schools by 2015. In particular, KUBS plans to build the ‘New Business Building’ to increase its capabilities in the facilities field and maximize the quality of studies through the world’s greatest educational facility.
The ‘New Business Building’, covering a total of 14,978㎡, has 5 floors above ground level and 4 underground floors. It will house state-of-the-art multi-function lecture rooms, labs, and various student amenities. The construction will begin in the first half of 2010 and finish in December, 2011.
KUBS which possess LG POSCO Building—one of the world’s top 10 state-of-the-art educational facility— hopes to take the level of Korean universities one notch higher by building the world’s greatest building in terms of both function and design.
KUBS said “The ‘New Business Building’ will mark the pinnacle of the Global 50 project. We hope to enable students to grow into global leaders by maximizing their learning effects through state-of-the-art facility.”
In order to realize the Global 50 project, KUBS has secured funds through donations from various companies and social organizations. For a long time, Korea University has been steadily receiving donations from alumni. KUBS is currently receiving donation pledges online to actively raise funds. (Link to donation pledge website)
KUBS will give donor names to classrooms, seminar rooms, and lounges in order to cherish the wishes of those who gave donations for the development of the school.
KUBS official said “The vast network we have in the business community has been a strong backbone of KUBS’s development. This strong network in the business community has played a great role in raising funds for achieving our vision ‘Global 50’.”
