After receiving his MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Chairman Kim joined the headquarters of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York in 1978. He worked as an investment specialist for 35 years in major financial centers such as New York. He has been active in specialized fields such as principal investment, infrastructure investing and financial advisory and has successfully executed investment and finance deals amounting to 25 billion dollars.
He served as an advisor to the Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission in 1998, Chairman of the Foreign Investment Committee of the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asian Cooperation Initiative in 2003, Advisor to the Seoul Metropolitan City Financial City Task Force in 2005 and Advisor to the Presidential Transition Committee in 2007. He is currently an adjunct professor at KUBS.
