The schedule for foreign language exams (second foreign language and Korean) for the 2023 Fall semester is as follows. 

 
※: For foreign language exams, please note that they are one of the graduation requirements. Therefore, you must complete the foreign language exam before applying for the thesis submission. You can check your eligibility status as follows:

※ Changes: This foreign language exam will be held only once (Early September TBA) in a year from 2024. 
 
1. Candidates : General Graduate School Master / Ph.D / Integrated MA-Ph.D students 
※ Including the students who are on leave of absent and course completed 
A. Criteria 

2. Test subject : Second language (German, French, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese Character), Korean 
※ English: The KU Foreign Language Center will notify you regarding the English Test.

3. How to apply 
A. Online Application: KUPID - Registration/Graduation – Exam Registration – Foreign language exam registration  
B. Application Period: July 31st , 2023 (Mon) 10:00 ~ August 6th , 2023 (Sun) 16:00 
※ (Not allowed to apply for the exams after the deadline) 

4. How to pay 
A. Examination Fee: KRW 50,000 per subject (KRW 20,000 for Chinese characters). 
B. Payment Method: After online registration, make the payment through bank transfer. 
1) Bank Account: Hana Bank 391-910010-71604 (Recipient: 고려대학교 대학원수험료) 
2) Method of Indication:  

  (1) Please indicate your name and the last three digits of your student ID (i.e: Hong Gildong 123). 
  (2) For foreign students, after making the payment, please send the deposit receipt (proof of payment) to the following email address (Email Address: graduate2@korea.ac.kr) 

※ Please be aware that any problems arising from unidentified payments are the responsibility of the student. 

※ Please follow deadlines: All submissions and payments outside the deadlines will be automatically canceled. 

C. Payment Period: From July 31st, 2023 (Mon) 10:00 to August 7th, 2023 (Mon) 16:00  
 

5. Test Date and Venue 

A. Test Date: Applicants should arrive by September 2nd (Sat), 2023 AM 09:40 
B. Test Timeline : AM 10:00 ~ AM 11:20 (TBC) 
※ Not allowed to enter the Woodang Hall after the test starts. 
C. Venue : Woodang Hall 

6. Result: October 6th, 2023 (Fri) AM 10:00 (TBC) (Online)

7. Others 
A. Materials : ID card/writing instruments without electronic functions 
B. In case the application fee is not paid during the designated period, the application will be canceled. 
C. Allow to possess dictionary book. But rentals and exchanges between students are not allowed. 
(Not allow to possess applicant’s electronic machines including cell phone, PDA, electronic dictionary, and etc.) 
D. The exam is all subjective questions and Korean exam questions is divided into ‘Humanities and Social sciences’ and ‘Natural science and Medicine.’ 
E. This notice is for only Korean and second language exams. 
(The KU Foreign Language Center will notify regarding the English Test. )
