“Be proud as a member of KMBA” – 2022 KMBA Freshman Orientation
2022 KUBS (Dean=Johngseok, Bae) KMBA Freshman Orientation was held on Saturday, February 5. Sophomore Jinseon Kim of KMBA moderated the first part of the event, which dealt with various information about life in KMBA. Freshmen participated online through Zoom.
After an introductory speech from the Academic Director Taegyu Kim of KMBA, Dean Johngseok Bae of KUBS gave a congratulatory speech. Dean Johngseok Bae emphasized, “Be proud as a member of KMBA,” and said, “Congratulations on your admission, and I sincerely wish you great development and glory in your future.” Associate Dean Yongkeun Yoo explained △the vision △the goals △the achievements and △the facilities of KUBS. Next, a video filmed by student ambassadors KUBE, which introduced the school campus, was played online.
Academic Director Taegyu Kim further explained general information such as △characteristics of KMBA △academic curriculum △majors △faculty. Professor Kim mentioned, “KMBA actively reflects industrial trends in its courses,” emphasizing that KMBA is a demand-centered education. He added, “The biggest asset you can get from KMBA is your colleagues.” Next, a staff from KMBA administrative office explained △the school system △academic affairs and △course registration.
The second part of the orientation involved the introduction of the Student Council and the annual school plan. Then, KMBA school clubs and student networking rooms were introduced. Department Manager Jeongmin Noh of Korea University Center for Human Rights & Gender Equality gave a lecture on Gender Equality, giving various examples on ▲human rights ▲gender sensitivity and ▲rights to self-determination. In the following part of the event, KMBA students and alumni were given some time to network with each other.
Meanwhile, KMBA is a two-year part-time program, with classes held after working hours for businessmen. KMBA aims to cultivate future leaders with a deep understanding of global business practices.
