“The 11th KUBS Teen Mentoring Day” for Future KUBS Students
Korea University Business School (Dean= Johngseok Bae) held “The 11th KUBS Teen Mentoring Day” for high school students who wish to apply for KUBS. Many students signed up for the event, and 120 of them were selected by evaluating applications. Even under the emergence of Delta Variant and stricter social distancing guidelines, the event was held online successfully with the support of KUBS student ambassador KUBE and 10 other student mentors.
The event began with a congratulatory speech from the Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs, Jae Uuk Chun. Following lectures covered an introduction to KUBS, briefing of seven majors and three tracks in business administration, business practice, online campus tour, and lectures by KUBS students. Associate Dean Jae Uk Chun welcomed the students by saying, “We hope this event will help you choose your career paths,” and professor Weon Ssang Yoo gave a lecture on the topic “If I Were a Marketer,” which covered the basic theory of marketing on 4P.
KUBS student mentors gave a lecture on study methods. A junior student from Sejong City stated, “Before the lecture, I thought business administration was a vague field of study. But through the lecture, I could get specific information about the branches of business administration.” President of KUBE, Junhee Ji (KUBS 17) mentioned, “I was happy to share this meaningful experience with many high school students who wish to come to KUBS. We will do our best to provide other helpful and fun events,” and fostered active interaction between high school students and KUBS mentors.
In the satisfaction survey, the student participants gave positive responses regarding the event. Satisfaction for the overall program (93.75%) was the highest, followed by Q&A session (90.2%), lectures by mentors (84.9%), and business administration lecture and practice (78.57%).
“KUBS Teen Mentoring Day” is an annual event held by KUBS to enhance high school students’ academic abilities and to guide their career paths.
