Spring 2016 MBA Welcoming Ceremony
A total of 252 new students have enrolled in Korea and Executive MBA programs
 
The welcoming ceremony and orientation of Spring 2016 Korea MBA (KMBA), an MBA program of Korea University Business School (Dean=Dong-One Kim), were held from February 20 to 21. This year, a total of 252 new students have enrolled in the KMBA. On February 20, Associate Dean Myeong-Hyeon Cho and KMBA Area Chair Jinbae Kim participated in the welcoming ceremony at LG-POSCO Building.
 
 
At the welcoming ceremony, Associate Dean Myeong-Hyeon Cho and KMBA Area Chair Jinbae Kim introduced Korea University Business School and the KMBA, respectively. After the ceremony, new KMBA students (Entering Class of ’16) wore crimson colored zip hoodies and attended the orientation. The orientation was held at Oak Valley Resort in Gangwon Province. New students were paired up with current MBA students and had an active networking time by answering the quiz questions on Korea University and cheering for the school.
 
 
“The KU MBA program continues to achieve the top in the performance index and research capacities in Korea and abroad,” said Dean Dong-One Kim in his welcoming speech at the orientation. “We will do our utmost to provide opportunities for new students to engage in various activities while building a strong network, and also help them dream bigger for their futures.”
 
 
The KMBA is the first MBA program founded in 1963 in Korea and aims to foster talented business leaders with academic theories and practical business knowledge. Starting March, the freshmen of the entering class of 2016 will go through the two-year evening program.

Meanwhile, the Executive MBA (EMBA) off-campus orientation was held at Grand Hyatt Incheon from February 19 to 20. In this orientation, Dean Dong-One Kim, Associate Dean Myeong-Hyeon Cho, EMBA Area Chairs Kyung Sam Park, Area Chair Weon Sang Yoo, and 52 new students of the 14th EMBA were in attendance.
 
 
In his welcoming speech, Dean Dong-One Kim said, “Our EMBA is a global program that ranked No. 27 in “The Top 100 Executive MBA Ranking” conducted by the Financial Times.” He added, “The 14th EMBA students will become talented individuals of our society possessing up-to-date business theories and strong professional networks through the EMBA program.” Afterwards, new graduate students had a Q&A session on the curriculum and campus life under the supervision of Area Chair Weon Sang Yoo.
 
 
After the program introduction, the 14th EMBA students had opportunities to introduce themselves and learn about their classmates. In addition, the 13th EMBA students and alumni joined the orientation and watched the performance and learned a fight song.
 
 
Marking its 14th anniversary, the EMBA, an independent program by Korea University Business School, is the school’s representative MBA program that stood at 26th place in the “3-Year Average Ranking” of the FT’s Top 100 EMBA Ranking.
