Outbound Exchange Student Information Session for the 2nd Semester of 2015

The KUBS outgoing exchange student information session for the 2nd semester of 2015 was held on January 19th (Mon.) at 2 p.m. in the LG-POSCO Building, SUPEX Hall, with about 80 KUBS students in attendance. This session for students was arranged to introduce new partner universities of the KUBS Student Exchange Program (SEP), number of exchange student openings per school, application schedule, and application eligibility.

New partner schools include Hanken School of Economics in Finland (“Hanken” below) and EM Lyon, St. Etienne Campus in France (“St. Etienne” below). Hanken provides high-quality education supported by the Finnish government in the areas of marketing, business organization, economics, etc. In the case of St. Etienne, located in the education city of France, the school offers not only a good learning environment but also low accommodation costs.

The application eligibility is as follows: KUBS undergraduate students who have completed more than 2 semesters (including those on leave of absence but excluding those in their last semester), KUBS graduate students who have completed more than 1 semester (including MBA students but excluding those in their last semester), dual-degree students of Korea University who have completed more than 2 semesters, KUBS transfer students and students who have changed their campus-affiliation who have completed more than 2 semesters at KUBS. Interdisciplinary major, double major, and business minor students cannot apply. Students who intend to apply for SEP must complete the online application by 11:50 am on January 28 (Wed.) as well as submit the application form and relevant documents to the International Office in the KUBS Main Building by 4:00 pm the same day.

The required documents, available partner schools, and other details can be found on the KUBS homepage (biz.korea.ac.kr) > Program > International Programs > Student Exchange > Outbound (from KUBS). Among the required documents, the English name must be the same on the passport, certificate of enrollment, and the transcript. The potential applicants for exchange student nomination must attend the Orientation for Potential Applicants to be held in March 3 at 6:00 pm and the Orientation for Outbound Exchange Students to be held in June.

Ms. Sun-Young Whang of the International office mentioned, “SEP is only offered to KUBS students” and “please make sure to check the application ability and application schedule carefully.” SEP is a system in which KUBS undergraduate and graduate students complete 1 semester in an overseas partner school and have those credits transferred to KUBS. Currently, KUBS has partnerships with 102 business schools in 32 countries.
