KU Draws MBA Hopefuls With Global Connections

More and more executives and senior managers are showing interest in Korea university(KU) MBA courses.
An MBA explanatory session held at the school yesterday showed the enthusiasm of MBA hopefuls in Korea.
The session was crowded with directors or mangers in charge of human resources departments from large companies such as Samsung, POSCO and Nexon.
An official of KU Business School attributes its success to the high-quality accreditation the school has. KU recently became the first and only school in Korea that has accreditation from both the United States and the EU. KU earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business(AACSB) in 2005 and the European Quality Improvement System(EQUIS) in 2007.
AACSB, founded in 1916, has granted specialized business school accreditation to more than 500 degree-granting institutions in 30 countries.
KU is the first Korean university to win the EQUIS accreditation. The two accreditations are regarded as the world’s most prestigious in business school programs.
As a result, KU students can earn academic credits when they study at overseas universities accredited by AACSB and EQUIS. In addition, KU plans to attract more international students for its Global MBA programs scheduled to begin in August this year.
The school will support foreign students with scholarships of 50 million won a year. The program that accommodates about 60 international students is composed of six modules. Each module, delivered in English, will take two months.
International applicants should have two or more years of work experiences in national or international institutes and submit a sponsorship declaration from a multinational company.
The school will recruit international students randomly until the global program starts in August.
