Korea University has climbed 34 steps from last years ranking from one of the “Top 200 Universities in the World” selected by The Times of the UK and got into one of the “Top 150 Universities in the World” with the ranking of 150.
 
 
 
Seoul University, Korea University, and the KAIST are ranked in the Top 200 Universities in the World by a British newspaper
Seoul University is ranked at 63, Korea University is at 150, and the KAIST is at 198. The first ranking goes to Harvard University.


(Seoul=Yonhap News) Three Korean universities such as Seoul University, Korea University and the KAIST were ranked among the Top 200 Universities in the World announced by The Times of the UK.

According to the British weekly “The Times Higher Education Supplement” released on the 8th, Seoul University leaped 30 steps from last years 93rd and was ranked at 63.

Korea University was also raised 34 steps from last years 184th to 150, but the KAIST fell 55 steps from last years 143rd to 198th.

The magazine announced that it had selected the Top 200 Universities by asking 3,703 professors around the world to select 30 distinguished universities in their respective fields and analyzed the result, referring to the responses of 736 graduates around the world, and considering the preferences of foreign students.

As the best university, Harvard University of the USA was selected, and Cambridge University and Oxford University of the UK marked the second and third. The MIT and Yale University of the USA were tied at the 4th.

Beijing University of China, as an Asian university, was ranked the highest besides American and British universities with the ranking of 14, and Tokyo University got 5 steps below 19th place.

In addition, the following Asian regional universities including Tsinghua University of China (28th), Kyoto University of Japan (29th), Hong Kong University (33rd), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (50th), India Institute of Technology (57th), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (58th), and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore (61st) were ranked at higher rankings.
