Special Lecture by the Most Successful Korean-American CEO in Wall Street, John Kim
The life story of how he became the leader of an international company in Wall Street
as well as his leadership strategies and the prospect of the global finance market
Korea University Business School (KUBS)(Dean = Doo-Hee Lee) hosted the special lecture of “Korean-American CEO” John Kim, Chairman of New York Life Investment, at 4:40pm on September 4th (Wed.) at the Supex Hall in the KUBS LG-POSCO Building.
John Kim’s lecture, “My way to become a leader at Wall Street: US Economic and Financial Market Update,” focused on the current status of the economic and financial market in the US while also looking into his story on how he was able to become the leader of an international company as well as the prospect of his own leadership and that of the world economy.
KUBS Dean Doo-Hee Lee said, “As a global financial expert, John Kim is one of the most successful Korean-American CEOs” and “this lecture will be a valuable opportunity to take part in John’s insights concerning leadership and the world economy as the leader of an international company.”
The head of New York Life Investment, John (Yong Woo) Kim, is an internationally-recognized Korean-American CEO who has vast knowledge of investment management with strong business operational abilities. He was appointed on January of 2011 and also served as the CEO of Aetna Life & Casualty and as the President of Prudential Retirement in the past.
New York Life Investment is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the largest mutual life insurance company in the United States, New York Life Insurance Company, and currently has about 380 billion US dollars (around 417.4 trillion Korean won) in assets under management. New York Life Investment provides a variety of financial services that include Institutional Asset Management and Retirement Plan Services, Securities Products and Services, and Retail Mutual Funds.
