The 10th Executive MBA (EMBA) Students participated in the ‘International Residency Program (IRP) 3’ from June 30th (Sun.) to July 6th (Sat.) at ESCP (Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris) in Paris, France. 56 students, Program Directors Seung-Weon Yoo and Hosun Rhim, and Program Manager Jiwon Gu participated in this IRP.

Established in 1819, as the oldest business school in the world, ESCP has 5 campuses, one each in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, and Torino. It is one of the best business schools in Europe, leading globalization with a Triple Crown accreditation of EQUIS, AMBA, and AACSB as well as about 100 partnerships with universities, including KUBS.

Students were able to build upon their business knowledge concerning the economy and culture of Europe and France through the lectures of ESCP professors regarding topics such as European Marketing Strategies. In particular, this IRP provided an opportunity to have more hands-on experience through a preliminary conference regarding the champagne industry (one of France’s key industries) followed by an actual visit to a champagne cellar.

IRP participant Soonsam Huh (10th EMBA Student) said, “We were able to enhance our understanding of the European and French markets through the lectures of international scholars and the company visit in France” and “Though I first thought of Europe and France as merely places of history and culture, this program was a valuable opportunity to learn about current European and French markets and economy first-hand.”

In the case of the EMBA Program, which works with only the best business professionals, taking classes in a prestigious foreign university and visiting an on-site international business through the IRP Program is part of the curriculum itself.
