Korea MBA Field Trip

The KMBA field trip is a program that has been specialized to foster international perspectives in students. The program has been focusing especially on visiting emerging markets in Southeast Asia in recent years. Students are able to hone their global mindsets as future businessmen and women through special lectures, local company visits, and industrial tours.

During the 4-day visit to Laos from June 22~25, beginning with a special lecture by Kolao Holdings CEO Sei Young Oh and a meeting with the board of directors, participating students visited affiliate companies of Kolao Holdings such as Indochina Bank, Auto City, Chery Motorcycle Shop, and K-Plaza. Program Director Sang Yong Kim remarked that, “Laos is a place of high investment value in that segmentation and target marketing can lead to a dominant market position” and “Korea is a driving force in the economic development of Laos with Laos-related grants ranking 3rd and investment ranking being 4th. KMBA students will have many opportunities to display their entrepreneurial spirit after graduation in the country.”

Program participant Jae-Joong Kim (Entering class of 2013) said, “The program was a bit stressful because I had to juggle work and academics at the same time. However, I was able to see and experience the business strategies and systems first-hand, and do not regret my decision” and “I hope to have various opportunities to build upon my business experiences.”
