KUBS 소식
Korea University Business School (KUBS) has once again been recognized for its global excellence in research capacity.
For the first time in Korea, KUBS has joined the ranks of the world’s top 100 schools and Asia’s top 10 schools in the ‘UTD Top 100 Business School Research Rankings’which evaluates the research capacity of each university.
The University of Texas at Dallas School of Management has been providing the global top 100 business school rankings based on the number of papers published in 24 leading business journals since 1990.
UTD has created a database to track all publications in world renowned business journals. Various international organizations are utilizing the UTD global rankings as a key index in evaluating universities.
The rankings are based on publications for the last five-year time period. A single-authored paper is credited with a score of 1. For multiple authors, the scores are converted accordingly before being ranked.
The number one place went to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (USA) with the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University (USA) following behind at second place.
In Asia, a total of nine schools made it into the top 100 which included Korea University Business School (99th), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (18th) Singapore National University (48th) and Hong Kong Polytechnic University (61th). From Korea, Yonsei University ranked 176th, Sungkyunkwan University 185th, Seoul National University 189th and KAIST(Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) 289th.
“It has been less than 10 years since KUBS started to put great emphasis on quality research and it is a remarkable achievement to make it into the global top 100 within such a short time period.” said Dean Jin Kyu Lee. He added “KUBS will continue to foster research-oriented environment so that our faculty continue to produce high quality research.”
