Holding number one position every year since 2006,
when the school was selected as a BK 21 school.
The excellence of Korea University MBA has been proven again. The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology recently announced that Korea University MBA ranked 1st in the ‘Brain Korea (BK) 21’ evaluation of MBA programs. KU MBA program has been holding the number one position every year since first being selected as a BK 21 school in 2006.
An official from the Korea National Research Foundation commented “Korea University ranked 1st place by receiving the highest scores in three categories; education, research, specialization (perfect score: 300). Following KU, Seoul National University and Sungkyunkwan University ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Ha-sung Jang, the Dean of KUBS explained the school’s success “A spirit of reform is the driving force behind KU MBA’s development. KU MBA ranks 1st place for three consecutive years in ‘BK 21’ evaluation
KU MBA ranked 1st in this year’s Brain Korea (BK) 21 mid-evaluation of MBA programs. KU MBA has held 1st place for three consecutive years (1st~3rd year Evaluation) since the inception of the 2nd stage of BK 21 project in 2006.
According to the announcement made by The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Korea National Research Foundation on the 19th, KU MBA ranked 1st in the 2nd stage of the 3rd year BK21 evaluation, outperforming Seoul National University and Sunkyunkwan University.
An official from the Foundation said “Korea University ranked 1st place by receiving the highest scores in 3 categories; education, research, specialization (perfect score: 300). Following KU, Seoul National University and Sungkyunkwan University ranked 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
A total of 2 trillion 30 billion won (290 billion won annually) has been earmarked for the 2nd stage (2006-2012) of BK 21, a government-funded project that aims to produce world-class research workforce. Every year the MBA Task Force (Korea University, Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Sogang University) receives 4.5 billion won.
KU MBA which received high scores in the 2nd year evaluation was able to attain greater results in the 3rd year by increasing performance in areas such as percentage of foreign language courses, number of full-time faculty, number of prominent foreign faculty, number of case developments etc. Following the 2nd year evaluation, KU MBA has increased the percentage of foreign language courses from 60% to 70% and has added 4 new faculty members, making the total number of full-time faculty 84. The number of foreign students has also increased by 1.5 fold, from 37 students to 54 students.
The Research Foundation is planning to officially announce the 3rd year evaluation results for the 568 task forces at 74 universities, after reviewing objections made by the universities regarding the recent evaluation results.
