Following last year, in a comparison evaluation study of non-US Business Schools, KUBS ranked the highest among Korean universities in terms of the number of faculty paper downloads. In the announcement made by Social Science Research Network (SSRN) on July 10th, KUBS’s global ranking was higher than last’s year 99th place (June 8th 2008), standing at 95th place this year. KUBS is the only Korean university to make it into the Global Top 100 list.
Following KUBS, Seoul National University and KAIST were included in the top 200, ranking 120th place and 164th place respectively. Yonsei University ranked 246th place. Among the business schools surveyed (including US business schools), New York University was ranked No. 1 with 173,739 downloads in one year.
The number of downloads is an important index that indicates the level of research at a school, as other scholars download the excellent papers for reference. As such, universities under the slogan ‘research-oriented university’ are striving to publish papers in order to receive recognition for their research capabilities and academic progress.
SSRN, the greatest research network in the field of social sciences, has established networks such as finance, economy and business management etc. The rankings are updated according to the number of downloads.
