2020-2 (Fall Semester) KUBS Outbound Exchange Program Application

** Please see the updated slots and requirements. There are few schools which have not yet given us the updated information regarding the application slots and requirements. Please be noted that all the details will be finalized until the second week of January, 2020.
** Before the application, you must finish doing your own research in the school that you are applying in (Including the requirements and application processes). You may refer to the corresponding school websites and KUBS online community.
** Those who are applying in University of Kentucky, are able to seize the scholarship opportunities from the school (Scholarship of $1250 for a semester). Do not miss this great chance.
** Aalto University has moved its location (Aalto University School of Business has moved from Töölö Campus in Helsinki to a new building at Aalto University’s main campus in Otaniemi). Please confirm the exact location in its official website before your application.

Before the application, you must finish doing your own research in the school that you are applying in (including the requirements and application processes).
 
Also, find some significant information In KUBS Website > Go to KUBS International Exchange Programs > Exchange Students > Exchange Review.
Online Application Date / Time: January 9th (Thu) 12:00 ~ January 20th (Mon) 11:50 (Late application is not permitted)

Interview  Date / Time: February 3rd (Mon) ~ February 4th (Tue) 13:00-17:00

Candidate Orientation
(For Undergraduates, Mandatory)

** Only the absents by unavoidable circumstances may be permitted. Individual orientation will be covered for the absentees. Please confirm with the department, should you be not able to participate in the orientation day.

1. Qualification: KUBS Student (Including Dual/Double major in Business)
*Student who is interested in KUBS Exchange Program
    **Student who is able to participate in 2020-2 (Fall semester) Exchange Program


2. Eligibility 
         A
. Undergraduates: minimum Average GPA 3.0, in two most recently enrolled semesters (excluding summer and winter semester)
         (Dual/Double major student who completed more than 12 credits in Business School and achieved average 3.0 is eligible)
         B. Graduates: minimum Average GPA 3.0, who has been enrolled for more than one semester. Student enrolled in their final semester before graduation is not allowed to participate in the program.

         C. Transferred Student who has been enrolled in KUBS for more than one semester 
         (Same applies to the cross-campus transferred students)
         D. Enrolled, Non-enrolled, Dual Major, Double Major student who meets the above criteria is qualified.
 
         E. MBA Student: minimum Average GPA 3.0 who has been enrolled in KUBS for more than one semester
         F. KMBA Student: available to apply during their fourth semester in KUBS, under the condition of one additional semester enrollment (please contact the KMBA officer for specifics) 

 TOEFLiBT & IELTS Certification: Only mandatory for the schools with the language score criteria in their assessment. Others can be applied without the language certifications, but extra points are given to the person who submits any.
** Students with foreign nationality must refer to “2020-2 Entrance Information for Foreign Students".

[Required Documents]

1. "Online application sheet", "Requirement Consent Form", and 2 copies of “Consent for the use of personal information collection (Screenshot of the online application form)”
2. A passport copy (The name of passport, English certificates and Transcripts must all match)
   **Passport expiration date must be over June of 2021 (Passport valid for more than 6 months at the end of the exchange period)
        (If the period is not reached, request extension or reissuance in advance and submit it! Submitting the reissuance application is allowed. Submit a copy of your passport renewal by the day of the interview)
3. An English Certification of Enrollment (the original copy printed from One-stop center)
4. 2 copies of English Academic Transcript (the original copy printed from One-stop center)
5. TOEFL iBT / IELFS Certification
original copy (Only for the students concerned)
   (If the original is not available at the point of submission, first submit the screenshot version of the online transcript and then submit the original copy until the interview day. It must be valid by the beginning of the exchange period.)

4 copies of English Academic Plan (Two A4 pages. Follow the attached application form – four contents below are the basic requirements)
    A. Statement of Purpose
    B. Study Plan & Future Plans
    C. Leadership & Social Skills
7. 
4 copies of English Resume (One A4 page. Follow the attached format)
8. Certificates for the inbound & outbound extracurricular activities (One for each certification – submit original copy OR confirm the copy with KUBS International Department)

[Assessment]

1. Documentary screening (40%)
    1) GPA (25%)
    2) Language Score (TOEFL / IELTS) (15%)
2. Interview (60%): Interview questions will be asked based on the submitted Academic Plan and Resume

    1) Korean Behavioral Interview (30%)
    2) English Behavioral Interview (30%)

[Number of Schools Applicable]

1. Applicable to 5 candidate sites in total
2. Up to 3 schools in the English-speaking region
3. Among the second-time participants, those who have been previously exchanged to English-speaking regions are not allowed to re-apply to English-speaking region
    (English-speaking regions: USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom)
4. Re-application to the same country (previously exchanged) is not allowed

[Exchange Period]

1. Basic plan: One semester corresponding to Korea University’s term (Spring/Fall)
2. Excluding the English-speaking regions, extension of period is allowed up to 1-year
    (Exclusively for the students who provide a recommendation letter OR a confirmation letter from the exchange school’s administrative officer)
3. Exchange period in English-speaking regions (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom) is fixed as ONE semester

[Assessment for the Second-time Exchanges]

1. Second-time Exchanges will be recruited after the end of the first-timer selection process
2. Students who have a previous record of mid-cancellation -withdrawing the application after the selection- are not allowed to re-apply into the program.
    
In case the student provides a reasonable demonstration for the previous cancellation, their new application will be reviewed at the very last order.
3. Identical document screening process to the first-timers applies to the second-time exchange applicants.

[Additional Announcements]
 
1. Demerit marks will be given to the students who received detention, reprimand or probation during the semester ahead of the application.

2. The reasons of unconditional disqualifications are as followed: submission of false information, manipulating the application materials, and rejecting to submit mandatory information or evidence.
3. Duplicated application to the KU international department’s exchange programs are not allowed.
    (Permitted only if the student completes withdrawing their KU exchange program application)

4. The KUBS Freshmen Scholarship Awardees are subject to receiving an extra scholarship in advance to the beginning of the exchange semester; the award amount depends on the student’s GPA attained in the semester ahead of the application. Please confirm the specifics with the KUBS officers.

* February 11th (Tue) 3:30PM – February 12th (Wed) 2PM: Second-round Application (Once you are selected in second-round application, you cannot withdraw it. Please consider well before your application.)
