regarding Graduate List Distribution and Cap & Gown Rental

1. February 2020 (2019 1H) Cancellation of KUBS Commencement Ceremony

Dear students and KU family,

Please kindly be informed that the 2020 KUBS Commencement Ceremony, originally scheduled on February 25th (Tue), has been cancelled amid the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). Please understand that Korea University is striving every day to take precautions as much as possible before the accident takes place.

2. Modification of Korean/English Name for Degree Certificate (Exclusively for the students graduating in Feb 2020)

- Korean/English Names are displayed at : KU Portal > Registration/Graduation > University Registration Inquiries (For English Name, should check capitals, spellings and spacings)

- As both Korean/English Name in Portal will be printed in the Degree Certificate, students should check their applications beforehand. Modifications after the release of certificate are not allowed.

- If any modifications for one’s name is needed, fill out ‘기재사항정정서 (Request form for modification of personal details)’ to csm0117@korea.ac.kr until February 16 (Sun). (Students major in Business Adminsitration or dual degree students only; Students in Business double major must contact their primary department office.)

- Important: Once the certification is issued (on February 17), any details cannot be changed for any reasons.

3. Distribution of Graduation Gown, Stole

- When returning academic gowns, a return stamp has to be sealed on the [Graduation gown hire card]⇒ Receipt of diploma at the Department Administrative Office

- If graduation gowns are not returned, receiving the diploma will not be permitted and issuances of any certificate will not be available after March 31, 2020.

- [학위가운대여증] should be kept as an original copy or as a photo copy until identifying individual’s certificate verification after March 31, 2020

4. Business School Graduation Certificate Distribution

Recipients: Students graduated as of Aug 2019, Feb 2020

- Dual degree holders are required to receive the certificates in their corresponding major department offices

- Must bring authorized ID / 학위 가운 대여증(return stamp sealed)

- Agents (or alternate receivers) are allowed to take the certificate for the absentee; however, post mails are not delivered. Alternate person receiving one’s certificate must bring a copy of own ID, ID of the person who graduates, and the agreement form (please see the attached).

- Please remind that Graduation Certificate is not reissuable.

- Issuance available from Feb 25th (Tue) at One-stop Service Center (02-3290-1144)

- Certificates for the students graduated before Aug 2019 will be distributed in KUBS Main Hall Room 103, from Feb 25th (Tue)

If you have visited one of the listed countries in the past 2 weeks, please keep yourself away from the campus town (China, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand). Also, please put the mask on while receiving the certificates in the campus and at any moments dealing with the campus personnel.

Graduation Gowns Pick-up and Returns

     1. Please observe and follow our policy and rules for preventing the spread of Corona Virus in Korea University.

     2. If you have visited one of the listed countries in the past 2 weeks, please keep yourself away from the campus town (China, Hongkong, Macau, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Thailand)

     3. Also, please put the mask on while receiving the items from the campus and at any moments dealing with the campus personnel.

     4. Please make the returns be on time.

     5. In May, there would be a temporary daily gown rent. (Specifics will be announced afterward)

     * Stolls are limited productions (only 1,000); they are being distributed equally at two locations, for 6 days.

     * Distribution of Graduation Certificates begins from Feb 24th (Mon). The dates may vary among the departments. Please confirm the specifics with the administrative office (T. 3290-2734)

       1) Campus East Village: SK Future Hall 1st Floor

       2) Campus West Village : Hana Square B1 Convention Hall

   C. Please see the corresponding dates to each major department below

※ From Feb 27th (Thu), rents are unavailable. Returns after 27th should visit KU Main Building 1st Floor.

※ Gowns for PhDs should be prepared individually. Students in the specialized graduate courses must ask their corresponding administrative departments.
