“Apply for Global MBA Now”
Korea University Business School’s Global MBA (GMBA) has a growing reputation as one of the best MBA in Asia. met Oliver Hanearl Yi, Hyo-Jin Chang, and Mohit S. Gill to hear their stories at Global MBA.

Q. What was the reason that you chose to study MBA at Korea University?
Oliver | I finished my undergraduate study in the U.S., and I came here to start my MBA to learn business studies in depth that is applicable to my career. I wanted to come study in South Korea because of my Korean background.
Hyo-Jin | while working in the marketing industry, I wanted to study other disciplines of business studies. After doing my research, I applied to the renowned MBA program at Korea University.
Mohit | I studied marketing back in Canada. I wanted to learn business administration in depth so that I can pursue more specialized career. Thinking that Korea University offers distinguished quality of teaching, I came to Korea University.
Q. Studying at Korea University, what do you think is the best thing about GMBA?
Oliver | I was pretty impressed by the strong bond you build between students, and with alumni. If a strong network is something you are looking for, I would suggest you to definitely choose GMBA.
Hyo-Jin | I am aware that MBA programs in general take up to two years. Korea University GMBA, however, is a one-year course, so I am sure an intensive one-year program is very efficient time-wise.
Mohit | During the program you take 6 modules in a year. It is intensive but quite rewarding too. I would also like to point out the fact that we can take specialized courses from Module 4.
Q. What do you think is the most important factor to take into account when choosing a MBA program?
Oliver | Definitely the duration of ‘time’ you want to invest on your study. Generally, people who consider enrolling in a MBA already have professional experience, so the duration up to 2 years can be a long time. In addition, I think ‘quality of teaching’ is another important factor too.
Hyo-Jin | If you are thinking of taking a MBA program, I would suggest 3 things to consider: ‘time’, ‘effort’, and ‘cost’. Since GMBA is a full-time program, you will need to quit your job to study. That is one whole year of studying so you do not want to waste any minute of it. I guess it is important to also keep in mind that you need to build a network with other students and focus on your study at the same time. When I was doing my research on MBA programs, I found that GMBA is cost and time efficient than MBAs at overseas institutions in general. So I think it is important to choose a program that is reasonable in many aspects.
Mohit | I think it is important to focus on what you want to achieve from studying MBA. For example, I wanted to learn practical knowledge that is applicable to my professional experience, rather than focusing on theoretical aspects. That was one of the reasons why I came to KUBS, and I am pretty satisfied with learning about sales and marketing strategies of corporations in Korea.
Q. Could you briefly share your plan after graduation?
Oliver | I am thinking of going back to America joining the family business, or I would like to find something in South Korea. I am looking for a career in entertainment or cosmetic industry.
Hyo-Jin | I would like to work at foreign affiliated companies. I used to work in marketing, but while studying I thought business strategy or finance might be interesting too.
Mohit | My goal is to work at multinational corporations. I am looking forward to work in Asian market. I prefer Korean companies that has overseas branch, but I think a career in Japan, China, or Singapore would be great too. I am pursuing a career in brand marketing.
Q. Could you please give a last advice to our readers who are considering GMBA?
Oliver | I would strongly suggest you to keep an open mind; it is always nice to try new things. I guarantee it will be a great opportunity to meet and network with others.
Hyo-Jin | If you are thinking of studying MBA, stop thinking and make your application. You will be able to experience a very unique and interesting culture during your study at Korea University too.
Mohit | I recommend GMBA at Korea University because apart from anything else, you can build a strong connection in Korea. If you would like to engage in Korean culture while you study, it is Korea University you need to apply to.
