Pre-MBA Career Day for Global MBA Freshme
"Pre-MBA Career Day," hosted by the Career Development Center of Korea University Business School, (Dean: Kim Jae-wook) was held on August 22 at Hyundai Motor Hall Room 403. The Pre-MBA Career Day, one of the most essential sessions of the 2019 Global MBA freshman Career Acceleration Program, is designed to help freshmen manage their careers and get job support.
First of all, the event began with the introduction of the Career Development Center and career development programs by Woo Jin-hwa, an employee of the Career Development Center. In the lecture that followed, Research Direct International (RDI) Worldwide CEO Gordon Dudley gave a speech on the topic of "Strategic approaches to the career." "I was also a Global MBA student like you 10 years ago," he said. "I worked at a Korean securities firm, though I’m from the U.K, and established an investment firm called RDI Worldwide after the G-MBA program."
He then asked students why they were attending the MBA program and students responded with answers. "It's very important to have a clear reason for a particular decision," Gordon Dudley said. "It's because it's the driving force and the sustainability of our efforts to achieve that goal." The process of building a career is not a sprint; it's a marathon," he said. "That is, studying for two years with an MBA may not bring the reward you want. “In that perspective,” he stressed, “a strategic approach to the career is essential, as it can save time and energy.”
Afterwards, the special lecture has been conducted in a free atmosphere, with identifying the motivation that drives G-MBA students to move by writing a psychological checklist, accordingly setting their own target careers, sharing and exchanging feedback "It was a very busy and difficult time while I was in the MBA program, but it was a very important time," Gordon Dudley said. "I hope you can experience a lot in here because it's the best asset.
