The 9th KUBS Youth Mentoring Day Held Successfull
The 9th KUBS Youth Mentoring Day was held on July 27th at the Korea University, Seoul Campus. The Youth Mentoring Day, organized and hosted by the KUBS Public Relations Office, KUBE and 10 student mentors, welcomed 100 high school students from all over the country who want to study business administration in college. "College life is about experiencing things that you didn't know before," said Jae Wook Kim, Dean of KUBS. “I hope you experience college life today as much as you want.”
First, the student ambassadors, KUBE, introduced campus life and seven majors in KUBS, providing high school students with basic knowledge of business administration. In Q&A sessions, Joong Hyuk Kim, Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs, answered some questions about KUBS. And then students toured around the school campus, carried out some missions and wrapped up the morning program.
The afternoon program began with a special lecture by Joonmahn Lee. Professor Lee gave a special lecture on business administration at the level of high school students. In the next two-hour session, students were asked to build a strategy using 4P and maximize the value of a company. Students seriously discussed what decisions they would make if they were a manager of a company.
After the session, participants had a mentoring session with a KUBS student. During the session, various questions were asked, including how to get into KUBS, test scores and school activities for examples, as well as questions about college life in general. "I want to thank you for keeping up with our program till the end," said Seok-hyun Kong (KUBS ’18), a member of KUBE. "I'll wait for the day to see you guys again at KUBS." Participants wrapped up the event by leaving messages to each other on a sheet of paper.
KUBS Youth Mentoring Day is held for first and second graders of high school every summer and winter vacation. Application for participation can be made at the KUBS website during the application period.
