Total of 42 KUBS Scholarships was given to 161 students
On May 23th (Thu), the first scholarship award ceremony for this year took place at Ahn Young Il Hall, LG-POSCO Building. For the Spring 2019 KUBS scholarships, members of honorable scholarship donor were: Kwangsoo Seo (Internal Auditor of ChungPyungHwa Market), Jahyung Koo (Deputy Head of KUBS alumni), Sungho Oh (Vice President of KUBS alumni), Yoonduk Cho (Director of Hyundai Motors Group), Jaekook Kim (Vice President of KCC corporation), Sanghoon Han (Associate Manager of KCC corporation), Jinyoung Chang from the ‘Keunchang Kim Scholarship Foundation’, Leehyun Choi (Vice President of Samjong KPMG LLC), Senny Park (CEO of Park Senny Mind Coaching Center), KUBS Professor Eonsoo Kim. More than 120 students who got the scholarship participated in the event.
The ceremony began with Dean Jaewook Kim’s opening remark. He spoke “The scholarship ceremony is a very meaningful point where the live conversation between donors and students becomes true. I would like to present my deep appreciation to all donors for KUBS again, and I expect students here to give back the aids they got from KU to the society in the future”.
Then the contents were followed by giving scholarship certificates to the receivers. In Spring 2019, total 42 categories of scholarships were granted to 161 KUBS students. △KUBS Dream Scholarship (50 students) △Future Scholarship (24 students) △Scholarship for Freshmen (14 students) △Soam Scholarship (12 students) △Namchon Scholarship (11 students) △KPMG-KU Scholarship (10 students) △86th AMP Program Scholarship (9 students) △Yangyeong Foundation Scholarship (6 students).

Next, the scholarship donors and holders had a banquet, with a chance to talk to each other. After the banquet, representatives of both sides made a speech at the podium. Jahyung Koo, Deputy Head of KUBS alumni said “It will be highly appreciated for me if the scholarship honors continuously develop their stance to reinvest in the future”. Leehyun Choi, Vice President of KPMG mentioned “Please be reminded that scholarships are consisted of small devotion from the alumni members. I hope this could be a practical support for the students”.
From the holder side, Jaeseung Lee (KUBS12) addressed a huge gratitude by saying “The scholarships are the main pillows holding KUBS. I feel that I am getting a new opportunity to show off my energy and vision in my life”.
At the end, participants chanted the school anthem altogether, and the event was successfully finished with group photo time.
