Korea University top ranked in Korea, 82nd in the world- only university placed in the top hundred
Korea University Business School (Dean Soo Young Kwon) reaffirms its reputation this year. In the KUBS Worldwide Business Research Ranking™ (‘KUBS Ranking’), Korea University ranked the 82nd among the top universities in the world. KU is the only institution in Korea that has been placed in the top 100 universities. Since the commencement of the KUBS Ranking in 2015, Korea University placed the top in Korea for the fourth consecutive year, demonstrating its excellence.
The top place in the world went to the University of Pennsylvania, the U.S. for the second year. Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, the U.S., ranked as the second and third best universities respectively in the world, as they did last year. The National University of Singapore placed as the fourth, which was the top placed university in the Asian region. City University of Hong Kong (8th) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (17th) were the other two institutions in Asia that were ranked in the world's top twenties. Among universities in South Korea, Korea University achieved a remarkable ranking (82nd), far outstripping △KAIST (108th) △Seoul National University (176th) and △Yonsei University (220th). Korea University is the only university that has been placed in the top hundred tertiary education institutions in the world, 10th in Asia.

Released every Fall, ‘KUBS World Business Research Ranking’ assesses research performance of business schools in the world, based on 40 thousand publications by 86 business journals. The institutions are ranked in the order of its comprehensive index, which involves worldwide rankings, rankings by academic area, rankings by journals. KUBS Ranking assesses seven academic areas in business including △Accounting △Finance △Management △Management Information Systems △Marketing △Operations Management & Management Science (OM/MS) △International Business (IB) & Strategy. This year, the Ranking of 300 universities was released based on publications during the five years from 2013 to 2017, with a comprehensive score reflecting the number of authors and the institutions.
Whereas the UTD Business School Research Rankings™ adopts the weighted value on 24 American journals, KUBS Ranking evaluates the world’s business schools without adopting weighted value by region, through which unbiased assessment is possible.
