Students with Top Marks Celebrated at Dean's List Luncheon
Korea University Business School (Dean=Soo Young Kwon) opened a ‘Dean’s List Luncheon’ on September 14th (Fri) and 20th (Thu) at Cuckoo Hall, LG-POSCO Building. Invited by Dean Soo Young Kwon, a total of 36 scholarship winners participated in the special event.
After having a brief session of sharing their stories, the attendants had a chance to share their thoughts and concerns of their study and career planning. Dean Kwon said “I know it takes a lot of work to get a 4.5 GPA. I am proud of you. And to be honest I had concerns about students, too. But I guess I didn’t have to worry, I am impressed by your thoughts on your career goals that you shared with me today. One last word of advice. Don’t forget ‘extelligence’ – it is important to broaden your thoughts in a cohesive form using information from external sources.”
One of the awardees, Ji-Eun Kwon (Interdisciplinary-Business’13) commented that “this occasion is very rewarding to me which convinced me that I am on the right track.” So-Yung Jung (Business’17) also said “It was nice to meet and speak with other awardee students. It was rewarding and inspirational to know that I am not the only one.”

Dean’s List Luncheon is an event designed to celebrate and encourage students with distinguished academic performance in the previous semester. In Spring 2018, a total of 44 KUBS students achieved a GPA of 4.5. Among the 44 awardees, Korea University President’s List of Academic Excellence went to 11 students who maintained their 4.5 GPA throughout two semesters since Fall 2017.
