Summer 2017 KUBS Evacuation Drill Held

On July 11 (Tue) at 10:00 a.m., Korea University Business School (KUBS) carried out an evacuation drill that lasted 15 minutes in all three of its buildings. In order to smooth its efficiency in response to natural disasters, KUBS has been regularly holding evacuation drills every semester.

As the alarm rang with the announcement, saying: “A fire has been reported in your area. Please evacuate the area,” professors and students filed out through the emergency exit and onto the field in front of KUBS Main Building. To create a real life situation, the staff employed a gas producing “fog machine.” The staff members in orange vests ensured the smooth running of the drill.

“I heard the announcement in my office,” Chang Ui Hong (Business, ’14) said. “I was startled but the staff members helped me cope with the situation.”

“The purpose of an evacuation drill is to establish a response system in the event of natural disasters,” KUBS Dean Soo Young Kwon said. “We are trying to raise the students’ awareness of the urgency of relevant situations and prevent fire by regularly holding drills.”
