The thundering roar of the Ko-Yon Games heat up Jamsil

The 2009 Annual Ko-Yon Games, which promotes friendship between Korea University and Yonsei University through cheering and sports, took place amid the roar of the passionate students.


Many KUBS students attended and passionately cheered at the 2009 Annual Ko-Yon Games which lasted two days (September 11 -12) in Jamsil.

 

With most of the foreign exchange students from KUBS attending the games, the KUBS family came together as one and enthusiastically cheered the school, transcending nationalities.

Srichaikul Vorasa who joined the Global MBA program this year said “I was greatly amazed by the passionate cheering culture. I am really glad that I had the chance to be part of KU’s unique culture of passionately cheering the school.”

 

Jung-goo Hong from the Finance MBA class of 2009 said “This is my first Ko-Yon Games. I could feel my heart beating as I heard the cheers thundering from the stadiums. After passionately rooting for the school alongside other students, I’ve developed this feeling of attachment to the school.”

Following the closing ceremony on September 12, after-parties prepared by the alumni association of KUBS and the MBA School were held at Anamdong.

 

The KUBS alumni association provided free food to all the participants at ‘Chunghakdong’ located on Chamsalyi-gil (street) in Anamdong. The alumni association of Korea MBA, Executive MBA, Global MBA, and Finance MBA organized an after-party for the MBA students at ‘Yoogaekjoo’ in Anamdong.

Students, faculty, and alumni from KUBS and the MBA program who took part in the Ko-Yon games attended the after-parties and strengthened ties.

 

Meanwhile, the 2009 Annual Ko-Yon Games consisting of five sporting events?baseball, soccer, ice-hockey, and rugby?ended as an overall draw. KU won the baseball and soccer games, tied in rugby, and lost in basketball and ice hockey. After winning two games each, the two schools finished the games with strengthened friendship.
