‘The 2nd Asia-Pacific Business Dean Summit’ Held-"Continue the legacy as the heart of Asia Business”

KUBS Dean Doohee Lee opened the 2nd Asia-Pacific Business Dean Summit.
Following the 1st summit, which opened a new era of business academics in the Asia-Pacific region, this year’s summit discussed fundamental international reputation based on the establishment of the Asia Business Administration. A total of 13 countries and 53 schools in the Asia-Pacific region participated in the conference. They discussed the development and vision of Business Education in Asia.
The event started on the 27th with the welcoming dinner party, and started the official program on 28th and 29th. On 28th, they discussed △ Education △ Research and △ Entrepreneurship. On each section, △University of Malaya, Dean Mohd Nazari ISMAIL △ Mahidol University, BS Associate Dean Vichita RACTHAM △ Singapore INSEAD, Dean Michael PICH, took charge.
In the afternoon, the Case Presentation on management practices in Korea and Asian companies were held. On the case presentation △Seungwoo Kwon △DaeSoo Kim △Sang Yong Kim △Jon Jungbien Moon △Anat ZEELIM-HOVAV △Martin HEMMERT presented their cases. ‘Case Presentation‘ was first introduced this year, aiming to contribute to the e- journal published on the management practices that can be shared between Korea and Asia.
On the 28th, Korea Business School Corporation • Graduate Council unanimously signed the < Manifesto for the development of the Republic of Korea Business Education>. The Declaration has had agreements for co- development between universities, and announced on 29th.
Korea Economic Council members said, “Business education in Korea is on the big turning point. We need to work together, and prepare and improve globalization. In this regard, it is recommended that business schools evaluation criteria should be improved to foster inter-university cooperation and global competitiveness orientation. During the Symposium, Dean Sungguk Kim from Ewha Women’s University presented and talked about Direction of Business Schools in the 21st century.
Dean Doohee Lee from KUBS said “This year we are intending to lay the groundwork of e- journal published for sharing management practices of Korea and Asia in the global management academics. For this purpose, 'Case Presentation' has been introduced, and substantial and specific discussions will take place for Asian Business Education.’
Meanwhile KUBS have received △ rank 89 in 2014, research facility (national number 1), △ Rank 22 in Executive MBA (national number 1) △ Rank 1 in MBA review conducted by 200 companies HR manager △ Rank 1 in graduate students to become CEO for 2 consecutive years. As shown above, KUBS is becoming world renounced Business school. Also, KUBS was the first to receive certification from AACSB, and EQUIS, and recertify for 5 years.
