The Fall 2016 KUBS Faculty-Student Meeting Day was held on the 10th, 13th, and 14th of October for three days in Ahn Young Il Hall of LG-POSCO Building. A total of 64 professors and 495 students attended the event. Each professor was assigned up to eight students, and they had a group mentoring session, where students can discuss about their studies and career, while having lunch provided by Korea University Business School (KUBS). The participating students not only shared their lives and concerns with the professors but also with the students who sat next to each other. The international students also participated in the event as a mentee and made it more engaging.
“I attended the KUBS Faculty-Student Meeting Day because of concerns about my future career and I was able to receive advice from my professor,” said Sang Wook Lee (Business Administration, ’13), who attended the event on the 14th. “It was great to talk about various issues and share information with other students who were mentees of the same professor.”
The KUBS Faculty-Student Meeting Day allows students to meet with a mentor professor and discuss about their studies and career plans. The event is organized each semester in order to motivate students with their academic success, as well as developing a rapport and relationship with professors. The event, which began in 2011, has demonstrated a high level of satisfaction from students and settled down as one of the representative KUBS mentoring programs.
In the meantime, 1,026 KUBS students were present at the Faculty-Student Meeting Day last year and interacted with their professors.
