“Striving to Sustainably Develop MBA Programs”

Q. Congratulations on your appointment as the Associate Dean for Graduate School of Korea University Business School (KUBS). Could you share a few words with us?
Korea University Business School (KUBS), the first school to introduce business education in Korea, boasts its 111-year-old tradition. Our school established Korea's first “Graduate School of Business Administration” in 1963 and began its MBA education in the same year. KUBS now offers Korea MBA, Executive MBA, GMBA & CEMS MIM, Finance MBA, and S3 Asia MBA. Each MBA program has differentiated curriculum in order to meet the demand of Korea’s diverse business education. Also, our programs have been recognized as the best in the nation. Particularly, the Executive MBA is advancing into the world by consistently placing within the top 20 in the ranking released by the British Financial Times. This year, the Executive MBA was ranked 24th worldwide.
This is certainly a proud achievement, but we still have to make constant efforts to build world-class competitiveness. That being said, we need to create a sustainable MBA education system. I believe the followings are necessary for the development of MBA: continued promotion, improving services and satisfaction in education, reviewing online education process, expanding alumni and social networks and strengthening globalization. It is no exaggeration to say that the MBA programs are the driving force behind the growth of KUBS. The new Dean Soo Young Kwon and I will endeavor to further develop the MBA programs. In addition, our MBA programs will also take part in achieving the KUBS goal of the “Becoming Asia No. 1 and Global Top 30.”
