Institute for Business Research & Education (IBRE) was selected as the most excellent institute at Korea University for its operations and research activities. The “2016 Affiliated Institute Annual Assessment Results,” released on October 17, is an annual assessment conducted by the Office of Research Affairs at Korea University. The purpose of the assessment is to enhance research capacity and promotion of the affiliated institutes at Korea University. One honorary best institute, eight most excellent institutes, and five excellent institutes were selected based on their research performance in 2015.
The assessment was categorized into five areas, which are △Liberal Arts △Social Sciences, △Natural Sciences, △Engineering and △Medicine. Each institute was measured quantitatively and qualitatively for its research activities. The assessment was conducted on 124 institutes affiliated at Korea University. IBRE was selected as one of the most excellent institute in Social Sciences Area I. The ratio of quantitative and qualitative assessments is 76 to 24.
IBRE published a total of 91 research papers and held 75 seminars, organized by eight affiliated centers at IBRE, last year. In addition, the institute newly launched the Center for Business Research Analytics and released the “KUBS Worldwide Business Research Rankings” in 2015.
“We have achieved such remarkable results thanks to our KUBS professors who have unceasingly dedicated their efforts into the research,” IBRE Director Chan Su Park said. “IBRE, which has been building a cornerstone of Business Administration research in Korea, will strive to actively support research activities to develop innovations befitting the 21st century.”
In the meantime, IBRE, the first business economic research center in 1958, continues its scholarly theoretical research on business environment, as well as contributing to Korea’s economic development through management training programs.
