ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Il Soon Hwang, Chair Professor, Nuclear Engineering Department, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST)
Professor Hwang has been leading national R&D programs for advanced non-refueling micro nuclear reactor, MicroURANUS, and spent nuclear fuel transmutation technology, PyroGreen, in support of net-zero emission. Prior to the current UNIST post, he was Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU), Research Scientist and Visiting Associate Professor at MIT. He published over three hundred technical articles, including SCI-listed papers, 7 co-authored books and over 30 patents. He received awards from Korean Prime Minister, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Order of Cavaliere from Italian President.

Dr. Seunghoon Lee, General Manager at H2 Korea
Dr. Seunghoon Lee is currently general manager at H2 Korea, where he oversees the strategy for Korea domestic hydrogen industry. He has been in his current role since December 2016. Before H2 Korea, his previous experiences include Samsung Display and Korea Gas Safety Corporation. Dr. Seunghoon Lee has a Ph.D from Joong-ang University in mechanical engineering, and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Kookmin University.

In-cheol Suh, Foreign Investment Manager at Ulsan City Hall
Mr. In-cheol Jason Suh has been serving as Foreign Investment Manager at Ulsan City Hall since 2019. His responsibilities include promoting Ulsan as an excellent foreign investment destination, organizing various IR events for foreign investors, and developing marketing materials such as monthly newsletters.
Prior to moving to Ulsan, he worked at Gyeonggi-do provincial government as a liaison developing the relationships between US Forces and the civil society by organizing and sponsoring community relations events and Korean culture programs for US service members stationed in Korea, as well as holding meetings between Korean government officials and US military commanders in the local areas. A native of Seoul, Mr. Suh entered public service in Korea after completing his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and graduate degree from the New School in New York City.
