Information Session on December 1 (Tue) at 5:30 p.m. at Hyundai Motor Hall B204…a regular seminar and mentoring session will be held.

On September, Korea University Business school established a program called “KUBS Study Abroad Preparation Program (advisor=Byung Cho Kim).” The purpose of the program is to share useful information for students aspiring to become a global scholar and to build academic networks.

“As befits its title ‘No. 1 producer of CEOs at top 300 companies and No. 1 employment rate among private universities,’ Korea University has a powerful professional network; however, our academic network leaves something to be desired,” said KUBS Dean Dong-One Kim. “We are planning to provide the Study Abroad Preparation Program with full support in order to build networks, as well as sharing practical information with their peers aspiring to become a scholar.”

In October, AKUSSA, Korea University's study abroad association, shared its curriculum with the Study Abroad Preparation Program. In addition, the University of Seoul Professor Jun-Yeol Ryu (△M.S. in Statistics, Stanford University △Ph.D. in HR & IR, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) was invited and held a seminar in November. The seminar will be held regularly by inviting scholars who have study abroad experience from all over the world.

“Students considering study abroad went through a series of trials and errors due to lack of information,” said advisor Byung Cho Kim. “In this program, students can establish an academic network with global scholars and obtain useful information through the mentoring.”

KUBS Study Abroad Preparation Program is composed of 17 Business Administration and International Business graduate students. Recruitment will be expanded to prospective graduate students next year. The information session will be held at Hyundai Motor Hall B204 on December 1 (Tue) at 5:30 p.m. Contact via e-mail (vica@korea.ac.kr) for further information.

"Depending on their circumstances, students face various challenges while preparing to study abroad and wish to seek advice on these issues,” said Yujin Kim (graduate student in Management), the president of Study Abroad Preparation Program. “Through this program, we hope to provide useful information for undergraduates and graduate students.”
