POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to:       Head of Sales, Financial Markets in ING Bank N.V., Seoul Securities Branch
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Overview
Sales is responsible for sales in fixed income, derivatives embedded products and other alternative investment products with toward eligible clients within approved limits in an effort to provide the leading edge solutions and/or flawless execution on the back of well-developed client relationship and products knowledge.
 
Responsibilities
As a Sales, your tasks and responsibilities will principally be:
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationship mainly with NBFI clients as well as FI clients (NBFI clients: SWFs, Life insurers, Property & Casualty insurers, Mutual Aids/Pensions, Asset Managers, Securities firms and etc), if any commercial opportunities, and collaborate with the Clients Relationship Manager if necessary.
  • Take charge of managing a portfolio of clients with a solid business potential such as structured products, fixed income products, other alternative investments products and etc.
  • Identify and cultivate commercial opportunities for both existing and potential clients. Strive to close transactions that improve FM's market share, while satisfying clients' investment needs
  • Build and maintain efficient working relationship with internal colleagues in Trading, Structuring, Research and other relevant teams/divisions, as well as regional Sales Teams in order to create commercial synergies (eg. cross-selling), and client service enhancements
  • Keep close track of current local and international market developments, which have an impact at product, client, and industry-levels, and align this info with product targeting & sales, and client servicing
  • Integrate established policies in areas such as corporate strategy, customer strategy & initiatives, risk, and compliance into daily work activities
  • Ensure that following Compliance Objectives are met :
  • Get trained and familiarize with the relevant dealer licensing and regulatory requirements related to the markets in which I operate; and know the relevant local financial industry code of conducts
  • Keep compliant with the relevant ING policies and procedures, and ensure that all compliance and non-financial risk management requirements are fulfilled in all client dealings
  • Escalate any possible compliance violations (e.g. market abuse or inappropriate behaviors carrying reputational risk) to Compliance and FM Management
  • Excellent maintenance of business relationships with clients to pursue the business opportunities from existing clients, and to expand new client base.
  • Facilitation of the demand of clients on the structured products and alternative investment products with solution providing approach
  • Daily deal execution based on the ‘FM sales practice manual’
  • Complying with Compliance rules to achieve high level of work ethic and professionalism.
 
Person Specifications
To be considered for this role, the applicant would ideally possess the following pre-requisites:
  • University degree in business administration, economics or finance and strongly preferred MBA from US business school;
  • Strong ability to manage client relationship with more than 3 years working experience as Sales and working experience at financial institution;
  • Good knowledge on Financial Products;
  • High level of market sense to see the trends/flows in the Financial Market;
  • High level of self-motivation and result-oriented approach;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in working with/for local and global clients; and
  • Strongly preferred fluent in English and Korean, both verbally and written.
