Position Description
Working under the direction of the Engagement Manager in the context of an M&A project and reporting to the M&A Market Leader, the M&A consultant exercises independent judgment to provide leadership and infrastructure development and contributes to building Global M&A Consulting Services through participation in management, operations and special projects;
Client-Delivery: Work with M&A Engagement Managers and M&A Coordinators on Korea and multi-national M&A projects for private equity and corporate clients, involving single or multiple lines of business, to provide leadership in the delivery of client solutions:
· Provide leadership and momentum to cross-LOB Mercer teams and client teams as needed for M&A HR project success; provide project management and on-site Project Management Office leadership and management services to establish, maintain and improve project infrastructure
· Lead or participate in delivery of culture, playbook, training and other M&A HR projects
· Lead or participate in the conduct of HR due diligence, due by close and transition projects for private equity and corporate clients
· Leverage LOB consultants to deliver on subject matter expertise
· Oversee M&A Coordinator within context of specific projects
· Focus within these consulting areas for the M&A Consultant will depend on individual competencies, as well as client and business need.
Business Development: Support the business goals of Global & Korea M&A Consulting Services:
· Identify and close on value added opportunities for the client throughout the M&A engagement
·Support M&A Engagement & Project Manager business development activities by, e.g., developing materials, researching clients, prospects and Mercer offerings, preparing proposals, Engagement Letters / SOWs, conducting conflict checks and managing other M&A protocols, managing M-Drive and Webcas requirements, etc.); participate in client-facing business development activities as needed.
Growth of the M&A Business: Support development of the Korea M&A business (e.g. IC development, special projects, compliance, professional development)
Requirements
A successful candidate for this position will have the following knowledge, skills and expertise.
· Four year college degree or equivalent and prefer for advanced master degree such as MA, MBA, etc.
· 3 - 7 years in consulting and/or industrial environment with client-facing, HR, strategy, M&A and project management experience strongly preferred
· Established HR and strategy capabilities and written and oral communication skills
· Developing accounting and finance analytics
· Fluently writing & speaking in Korean and English
· Ability to manage projects and work of highly complexity and scale
· Significant personal initiative and professional drive. Ability to be successful in a fast-paced, changing environment including overseas travel. Willingness to work at the pace and in the hours required by client premises
