MSCI-Korean Research Intern (Seoul) (Jan - Mar 2013)
ISS Governance Services, a subsidiary of MSCI Inc., is currently seeking Korean Research Interns for the upcoming Korean proxy season, who are able to work from January to March 2013.
We expect that the regular working hours will be from 9 to 6. However, from mid-February to mid-March, we expect all interns to work extra hours during weekdays besides the regular working hours and all the weekends during this period.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Analyze corporate governance and financial information to write research reports on publicly traded companies in Korea;
•Issue proxy vote recommendations for shareholder meetings of the companies in the Korean market;
•Develop market expertise in corporate governance, investment, and shareholder issues gathered through fundamental research and engagement with company executives, institutional investors, and government/regulatory/listing authorities; and
•Search through country publications to obtain proxy materials; contact companies to obtain proxy materials.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•Finance, Business, Law, Political Science, Economics or any related courses;
•Recent graduates, sophomores and juniors with strong academic records are encouraged to apply.
•Experience in corporate governance/investment analysis and research is a plus but not must.
•Native in Korean; Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Especially good English writing skill is required
•Strong analytical ability and financial understanding of investment issues;
•Be detail-oriented and analytical, have a keen sense of judgment, and be goal-oriented;
•Proficient in the use of web-based and Microsoft Office applications;
•Work independently, take initiatives and interact with the other team members; able to work under stressful situations.
