Corporate Development Associate

 

Samsung Electronics, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, is a leading global electronics company.  Samsung Electronics is establishing a Strategy and Open Innovation Center (SSIC) in Silicon Valley, to drive long term strategy and to tap into the culture of innovation in Silicon Valley. The SSIC will leverage its deep network of industry and ecosystem relationships to develop corporate and business level strategies and to engage with strategic partners.  The SSIC will also enable experts in system, software, and hardware technologies to collaborate and to co-develop next generation solutions platforms with our ecosystem.  By driving disruptive innovations in technology and business, the SSIC will catalyze the creation of new businesses to serve as future growth engines for Samsung Electronics.

 

Responsibilities

The Corporate Development Associate will provide analytical horsepower to support M&A, new business development, and other strategic projects.  Job responsibilities include:

-          Conduct industry/market/competitive analysis

-          Develop financial/scenario models

-          Perform due diligence to support strategic projects

-          Strengthen network with research analyst and industry analyst community

-          Help to prepare communications and recommendations to senior corporate management

 

Qualifications

-          Strong academic record from a leading undergraduate institution, with a BS degree in Economics, Finance, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or other applicable discipline; MBA from a top 5 institution highly desirable

-          2-4 years experience in a Private Equity, Management Consulting, or Investment Banking role focused on the IT industry and related technologies (semiconductor, systems and/or software)

-          Experience in building detailed financial models, analyzing industry and market segments, and performing other quantitative analyses

-          Critical thinker, with strong analytical and problem solving skills, and unafraid to state an opinion and debate it

-          Ability to articulate and advocate business value propositions for new markets and products

-          Excellent interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills

-          Strong network of industry analyst and research analyst relationships

-          Entrepreneurial drive and self confidence to excel in a high impact, highly dynamic, and geographically dispersed team environment

-          High ethical standards

-          Some travel will be required
