The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking a graduate student for the position of Market & Research Intern for the Private Partnerships Division, which will become available in our Korea Office based in Seoul, Korea.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following key duties:
Ensure that all WFP employees, associated staff, stakeholders and partners, etc. have access to pertinent business information through timely research services in conjunction with the due diligence process; marketing, research and due diligence duties include:
· Conduct extensive research on donor companies including background, reputation and CSR related activities for WFP standard due diligence.
· Translate and summarize Korean articles into English and upload to the WFP Sales Force system.
· Produce reports, surveys, charts/graphs, forecasts, polls, statistics, focus groups, trend analyses, proposals, etc. in an honest and ethical manner on sustainability of potential partners
· Actively participate in the development of partner/donor proposals with reference to the marketing goals and WFP’s needs
· Assess, interpret and evaluate outcomes of multiple research projects and ensure that existing and future data is accurate, timely and complete
· Identify and report on private sector industry trends and emerging topics
· Assist with database entry and additional information systems reporting and enhancement
· Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
· Enrolled in an active graduate level University degree program in communication, media, information management, business administration, marketing, psychology, law, economics, social sciences or other related fields. Marketing/research related certification(s) is desirable. Must have completed an undergraduate university degree.
Experience:
· Strong experience in conducting research and understands research methodologies and techniques
· Advanced knowledge of technology and social media tools
· Some experience with evaluating and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
· Ability to approach and interpret marketing/research and reporting skills from a new and innovative perspective
· Excellent computer skills including full Office 2007/2010 suite and social media tools
· Strong understanding of how technology can optimize the work of often geographically distributed groups and teams
· Strong time/project management skills and ability to work under stringent deadlines
· General knowledge of United Nations system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing the administration is an asset
· Aware of ethical issues involved with marketing, research and related work
Competencies:
· Excellent written, oral skills both in Korea and English, communication, presentation and problem solving skills
· Excellent use of innovation and creativity to solve routine problems in relation to marketing/research projects
· Strong research and organization abilities
· Ability to actively listen and incorporate different perspectives into the work process
· Ability to work independently
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
Duration and Compensation:
· Six-month paid internship
