INVESTMENT BANKING DIVISION OVERVIEW
The Investment Banking Division (IBD) provides expertise across products, industries and regions,
a multifaceted approach that differentiates us in the marketplace. The structure of the Investment
Banking Division, which is comprised of our Investment Banking and Financing Group areas, allows
us to offer the broadest range of products and advisory services we can provide to our clients,
further enabling us to deliver best in class solutions. The products of the Investment Banking
Division fit into the group’s two key components: Financial Advisory and Underwriting. Financial
Advisory includes advisory assignments with respect to mergers and acquisitions, divestitures,
corporate defense activities, restructurings and spinoffs. Underwriting includes public offerings and
private placements of equity and debt instruments.
IBD KOREA OFF-CYCLE PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Our IBD Korea Off-Cycle Interns will assist in creating and analyzing financial models, organizing
and preparing client presentations, helping manage transaction processes, structuring transactions
and assist in conducting due diligence sessions which are a necessary component of financial
transactions, by organizing documents, collecting data, copying documents etc.
ASSIGNMENT DURATION
• 3 months (January to March/ April to June/ September to November)
• Those interns who perform well may be considered for a full time position following their
internship
QUALIFICATIONS
• Final year student or recent graduate (within 12 months of graduation)
• A keen, long-term interest in investment banking
• Drive, enthusiasm, creativity and excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities
• An outstanding academic record. While not required, completion of course work in finance,
economics and accounting can provide a valuable foundation for the position
• Personal integrity, initiative and leadership qualities
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
• Fluency in English and Korean
