Job description
The position will report directly to the Strategic Studies Manager and will assume the following responsibilities:
1. Monitor and analyze Asian oil &product markets in a macroeconomic and policy/regulatory context in short- and long-term
2. Maintain specific countries and markets as focus areas as assigned by manager
3. Monitor business, market and regulatory trends relevant to Asian petroleum industry in general and Aramco Asia’s business needs in particular
4. Develop and maintain relevant databases and models for forecasting market trends and scenario analysis
5. Based on the above, issue market and policy/macro reports, periodically and ad hoc
6. Engage in a wide range of other project or JV related analysis activities
7. Guide work of researchers
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, or international relations is required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
2. At least 8 years of work experience, with 3 years’ experience focusing on petroleum market analysis on Asia (region or specific countries; crude or product markets).
3. Good knowledge of Asia’s macroeconomic and political environment, at least for several countries within the region. Understanding of the energy policy frameworks of major Asian countries is a strong plus.
4. Near native-level English writing skills and excellent oral communication skills are a must, and the candidate should have an advanced command of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
5. Energy balance modeling experience with proof of previous work is preferred.
6. Relevant industry certifications and publications are a plus.
7. A strong ability for independent thinking and working effectively with minimal supervision.
8. Working-level fluency in Chinese, Japanese or Korean is desirable.
