POSITION – BUSINESS ANALYST
The role of the GIR Business Analyst based in Korea is to support the Asia Pacific Equity Research team by compiling, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing data and other information to develop valuable insights and investment ideas for our clients. The role will focus not only on quantitative tasks such as developing financial and industry models, contribution to the preparation and production of fundamental equity research.   

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Research and critically analyze market information for the assigned sector 
• Interpret data and analysis on market, economic, and political events 
• Audit company and industry data and statistics 
• Develop and update financial models 
• Support a writing analyst in helping to build the franchise 
• Handle requests for information from clients and other Goldman Sachs departments
•  Communicate with the Equities sales force and traders, clients, and company managements 
• Assisting in the writing of publications on companies under coverage 

Basic qualifications 

• Strong educational background with the degree in Finance/ Economics/ Accounting 
• Strong communication skills both in Korean and English 
• High level of attention to detail, ability to work accurately with a large amount of data 
• Strong ability to perform financial statement, business and valuation analysis 

Preferred qualifications;

• At least 1 - 2 years of fundamental research or investment banking or corporate finance/ accounting experience 
• Ability to demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, lateral thinking, and judgment
• A proactive approach and a high level of enthusiasm and motivation for the financial markets 
• Strong ability to multi-task and work within teams 
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and work under pressure
