INVESTMENT ANALYST – ID CAPITAL

ID CAPITAL OVERVIEW
ID Capital is a boutique VC Consulting & Investment Company specialized in Agritech and Foodtech. Since 2014 its core focus has revolved around funding and promoting startups proposing innovative and sustainable ways to address the challenge of feeding an extra 2 billion people in 2050.
Building on the momentum around these stakes in particular in Asia-Pacific, in 2017 ID Capital has spearheaded the Food Future Award Asia, the 1st prize-winning startup competition in this domain in APAC. This further established the credibility of ID Capital and led to more investment opportunities.
With 4 agrifoodtech startups invested to date, ID Capital is now steering its activity towards more VC investments, encouraged by the its appointment (Jan’19) as a co-investment partner of Enterprise Singapore’s Seeds Capital fund. ID Capital has received the approval from Monetary Authority of Singapore to conduct VC fund management activities and is currently raising fund.
ID Capital is recruiting a Investment Associate to reinforce its team and address investment opportunities in key Asian markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE INVESTMENT ANALYST
The Investment Associate will be supporting the team across all geographies. Based on his/her language skills and experience he/she might be assigned 2 to 3 countries to focus deal sourcing on. This will include Greater China and Korea.

Deal sourcing
- Generate leads and liaise with incubators, accelerators, and start-ups in these countries ecosystem to develop potential partnerships and investment opportunities
- Participate to local events if and as needed
- Scout startups, profile them and operate the 1st high-level selection based on ID Capital’s investment thesis and due diligence process
- Document the interaction and maintain knowledge base on sourced deals
- Prepare presentation of investment opportunities to Investment Committee (“IC”)
- Contribute to due diligence and technical analysis for the evaluating of startups
- Contribute to interactions with domain experts
- Prepare Investment Memorandum
Management of his/her portfolio companies
- Remain on top of the progress of startups that have been shortlisted as “interesting to follow”, their milestone achievements
- Contribute to LPs reporting on portfolio companies
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Master Degree in Business/ Finance or in Science (Biology, Chemistry preferably)
- 2 to 3 years of working experience in the Venture Capital industry or in M&A advisory.
- Some exposure to agri/food industries. This can include assignments in agri/food corporations. Alternatively, a strong interest for this most promising sector.
- Bilingual proficiency in English
- Bilingual proficiency in either Mandarin Chinese or Korean. Both will be a plus.

- Excellent analytical skills and business acumen
- Strong interest for the agriculture / food industry and sustainability challenges
- Capacity to work in a startup environment and learn on the job
- Entrepreneurial spirit
