Job Description
A Senior Strategy Analyst for TSS in Asia Pacific is being sought. This role is most suited for:
- strategy consultants interested to move into the banking industry and participate actively in business activities for the long term, or
- bank credit/equity analysts looking to develop wider product/market knowledge across all transactional banking products as well as all Asia Pacific markets including Japan and Australia
The role is based in Hong Kong and reports to the Head of TSS Strategy, Asia Pacific.
While basic quantitative skills are required, it is equally important to have exceptionally written and spoken communication in English, together with confident and mature interpersonal skills. Experience or knowledge in securities services (e.g. custodian services) would be particularly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the execution of strategic and financial analyses in support of establishing and implementing the strategic agenda of a line of business or customer segment
- Monitor and comment on macro-economic and regulatory events impacting TSS APAC
- Provide thought leadership and project management for key cross-LOB and TSS strategic initiatives such as:
- Evaluation of new business/market opportunities and divestitures
- Support business and region executives in developing regional business strategies
- Identification and quantification of opportunities to improve operating efficiencies
- Determine and advocate appropriate level of investment in regions to ensure leadership positions and profitable growth
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years work experience of which 3+ years in transactional banking or strategy consulting.
- Demonstrated ability to turn analyses into actionable plans
- Strong project management and multi-tasking abilities under pressure
- High scores in Undergraduate degree and/or MBA — preferably a top tier university
- Ability to design the approach to conduct analyses & research from a given problem/objective
- Superior clear thinking and problem solving abilities
- Exceptional logical writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with junior as well as senior staff
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Powerpoint and Excel
- Knowledge of an Asian language an advantage but not essential
