The Korean National Commission for UNESCO is opening 43th International Youth Camp (IYC) in theme of ‘Glocal Solidarity, Glocal Action!’. IYC is renowned international event for youths with rich 42 years experience and various programs including programs for foreign culture understandings, workshop for local society cooperation, field study, and discussion program for local social problems etc.

 

Youths with passion is welcomed in Intern (Staff) position for preparation and supportive role for overall event.

 

1.     The 43th IYC Abstract

A.     Theme: Glocal Solidarity, Glocal Action!

B.     Date: 7. Aug. 2008 – 17. Aug. 2008.

C.     Place: UNESCO Peace Center (Icheon, Gyeonggi-do) and 10 field study points.

D.     Participants: 25 Korean, 75 Non-Koreans (Total 100).

E.      Host: Korean National Commission of UNESCO.

F.      Supporters: Ministry of Health & Welfare and Family, KIA Motors,

              National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea.

 

2.     Main Work

A.     Overall planning of IYC event.

B.     Preparation for respective programs.

C.     Support and evaluation work for event.

 

3.     Qualification

A.     Youth and students (graduate/undergraduate) of age 20 to 30 who is interested in following issues: Environment, Human rights, Cultural diversity, Cultural heritage, Youth alienation, Community solidarity.

B.     Person with IYC, International voluntary activity, International camp etc. participating experience.

C.     Person with well-rounded personality, communication skills, problem solving abilities, and decision making abilities.

D.     Person with energy and passion.

E.      Ability to use Hangull as well as MS Word.

F.      Available for communication and documentation in English.

 

4.     Work Condition

A.     Work Place: Youth Team, Korean National Commission of UNESCO, 50-14,

              2 ga Myeong-dong, Jung-Gu, Seoul.

B.     Work Period: 3 month(Late May - Late August)

l  For students, participant has to be available from the end of school semester (early june) to late august, 09:00 – 18:00, 5days a week. Weekend work time can be allocated subject to various conditions.

 

C.     Pay: Voluntary internship without payment.

 

D.     Advantages

l  Professional view and experience in global term would be achieved

while working with history-rich association.

l  Free registration fee for event and small amount of payment can be expected.

l  Approval of internship in document form would be given at the end of program.

 

E.      Requirements

l  Resume (Korean): Free format, Contact points has be clearly shown.

l  Statement of self assessment (Korean): A4 2pages limit, free format.

l  Essay (Korean or English): Topic is ‘Global Solidarity, Global Action!’. A4 2 pages limit.

F.      Enrollment and Selection

l  Persons: Around 5 (including non-Koreans).
