Use AI to turn customer problems into shipped growth experiments.
About Playad
GIGR is building Playad, an AI agent team for marketing. Generation is getting easier. Growth is still manual. We are building a system that turns goals and customer context into action, learns from the results, and continuously improves what happens next.
About the Role
Most companies separate Growth, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Engineering. At an early-stage company, the most important problems rarely arrive with a label. A customer may struggle during onboarding. The right users may not understand our value quickly enough. A useful feature may remain undiscovered. A promising campaign may generate attention without creating lasting value. Your job is to notice these gaps—and close them. As a Growth Engineer, you will mostly use AI to interview customers, analyze in-app data, write copy, prototype experiences, build automations, and launch experiments across the entire customer journey. Your work will begin with a real customer or business problem and end with something shipped. You may write code. You may write copy. You may work with customers, data, design, or automation. The medium will change. The outcome is what matters.
What You’ll Do
- Talk directly with customers to understand what they are trying to achieve, where they get stuck, and what they truly value
- Turn customer conversations, product behavior, and funnel data into clear growth hypotheses
- Design and run experiments across acquisition, activation, retention, referral, and revenue
- Build landing pages, onboarding flows, lifecycle campaigns, internal tools, and AI-powered automations
- Use AI to move from an unfamiliar problem to a working solution quickly
- Define success metrics, measure results, and decide what to improve, scale, or stop
- Work closely with the founding team and collaborate across product, design, and engineering
- Turn successful manual experiments into repeatable systems
One week, you might redesign an onboarding experience after speaking with customers. The next, you might launch a positioning experiment, investigate a conversion problem, or build an AI workflow that eliminates hours of repetitive work. You will not be expected to solve everything at once. You will be expected to identify what matters now and move it forward.
What We’re Looking For
We care about:
- Exceptional learning speed
- Strong judgment about what matters
- Genuine curiosity about customers and human behavior
- The ability to generate many ideas and prioritize the few worth testing
- A bias toward building, shipping, and learning
- Clear thinking in ambiguous situations
- The ability to turn a vague problem into a concrete next step
- The discipline to verify AI-generated work rather than trusting it blindly
- Ownership from problem discovery through measurable outcome
- High standards without needing perfect conditions
This is an early-career role. We do not expect years of experience. We do expect unusual initiative, ambition, and evidence that you can make things happen.
Signals We Love
You may have:
- Launched a side project, product, event, community, newsletter, or campaign
- Found users, customers, members, or partners from scratch
- Built something useful with AI even though you did not initially know how
- Improved a process that nobody had explicitly asked you to fix
- Taught yourself a new skill because it was necessary to complete a project
- Run an experiment, discovered that your original idea was wrong, and adjusted quickly
- Taken an idea from “someone should do this” to “it’s live”
These examples do not need to come from a full-time job. They can come from school, an internship, a student organization, a personal project, or something you started on your own.
What You Don’t Need
You do not need:
- A traditional engineering background
- Previous experience in Growth or Customer Success
- Mastery of a particular CRM, analytics platform, advertising tool, or programming language
- A long list of internships
- A perfectly polished résumé
We are not hiring for experience with yesterday’s tools. We are hiring for the ability to solve tomorrow’s problems with AI. Most of the tools you will use a year from now may not even exist today. What matters is whether you can learn quickly, recognize good work, and turn an ambiguous problem into something real. Your job is not to know every tool. Your job is to make growth happen.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you will:
- Develop a clear understanding of why customers adopt Playad, where they hesitate, and what keeps them coming back
- Establish a consistent rhythm of customer conversations and growth experiments
- Take ownership of an important bottleneck in the customer journey
- Ship experiments, measure their effects, and communicate what we learned
- Build AI-powered workflows that make the team faster
- Turn successful one-off actions into repeatable growth systems
Why Join
This is a rare opportunity to learn the entire growth loop from the inside. You will work close to customers, product decisions, and company strategy. Your ideas can reach the market quickly, where you will receive honest feedback from real behavior. You will have room to identify problems, propose ideas, build solutions, run experiments, and shape how Playad grows. You will not simply observe how an early-stage company is built. You will help build it.
How We Hire
We start with a casual coffee chat. If we both want to learn more, we will invite you to a paid Trial of at least 40 hours (or a task equivalent). Instead of relying entirely on interviews, we prefer to spend real time solving real problems together. The Trial is also your opportunity to understand how we work and decide whether this is the right place for you.
How to Apply
Apply through our careers page at playad.ai/careers.
Along with your application, share one thing you made happen that probably wouldn't have happened without you. It doesn't need to sound impressive — what matters to us is what you noticed, what you did, how you used the resources available to you, and what happened as a result.
If anyone comes to mind, we'd really appreciate the referral!
